So, I revieved an e-mail from a friend. It was about Obama and at the end was this statement:
According to The Book of Revelations the anti-christ is:
The anti-christ will be a man, in his 40s, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal….the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything. Is it OBAMA??
I STRONGLY URGE each one of you to repost this as many times as you can! Each opportunity that you have to send it to a friend or media outlet…do it!
If you think I am crazy..Im sorry but I refuse to take a chance on the “unknown” candidate
Let me just say here that I am not an Obama supporter. I have my own issues with ALL the candidates, but this just sent me into a tizzy. My response to this was to reply all and ask if the person who sent this really believed it, and that when the book of Revelation was written there was no such thing as Muslims.
What makes people swallow whatever their given without even asking a question. I am always surprised by the amount of crap that I recieve. Most of the time the “facts” in the e-mail are not even credible.
So, if you are planning on sending me one of these e-mails….DON’T!
I completely agree with you.
I am not anti-religion, and I am not anti-Muslim. I don’t agree with a lot of their beliefs, but then again, I don’t agree with a lot of Christian beliefs either.
What this person you are referring to is afraid are not Muslims, but Muslim extremists. Unfortunately, her passing on a statement like that about Obama is Christian extremist.
Like you, I’m not a fan of Obama (or Clinton or McCain), but that’s not the point.
How about people think for themselves and decided on beliefs after research the facts, rather than passing along an email forward with no basis and here’s the part that kills me – without question.
That, my friend, is almost equivalent to being religiously brainwashed, and honestly, a bit extreme to me. I’d be more worried about the people sending these emails (extremists), than I would be of Obama “destroying everything.”
wow. that’s the lowest one yet. i find myself defending the man simply because so many Christians have acted like such a**es about him. wow. just wow.
crazyhecallsme- thanks for stoppin’ by and leaving a comment. Not all Christian are that extreme. I think you can have strong beliefs without taking it soooo far.
cindy- WOW, exactly!
Cindy ~ Christians act like @$$es to a hell of a lot of people. I agree with you though. Besides, if you look closely you can actually see the ten horns protruding from under Hillary’s do! 😀 (kidding)
I can’t stand receiving those emails and unfortunately, they come out about every other day.
Yikes, I hope I didn’t come off as sounding like all Christians are extremists. That’s not what I meant.
I think there are a lot of religions where SOME members take things to the extreme.
You didn’t come off that way at all. No worries. You just spurred me into venting a little. That’s all! 😀
Wow, cool. Two different pics and no changes by me. I love it!!
I’d love to see the chapter and verse. I mean really … I would. Because that’s a lie. It’s perpetrating fear and as Christians we are not to live in a spirit of fear, but of love. What the … is the right attitude. Rock on, Lori …
chcm- No, you didn’t come off that way, I was just clarifying. It’s a fault of mine.LOL
Mike- love the different pics… change it up baby. You crack me up!
Sonja-I’m rockin’ girl! It really amazes me the crap that people just send without any thought. I just don’t get it.
Sorry to jump into this one so late. I wasn’t on WP in April. thevikingfru and crazyhecallsme, I wouldn’t even classify an email like this as Christian extremism. The original motivation of the author is clearly political. As for everyone who passes it on as true, it’s not a case of being extremist as it is both lazy and uninformed. Extremists have a fundamental or better grasp of what they believe and then distort it. These people lack even a basic grasp of their own faith. See my post on “Internet Theology” at http://christiansthink.wordpress.com. No shameless self-promotion intended. Thanks.
Drat! Here I have been telling people that Rickard is the “beast”. Oh well back to the prooftexting board. ;P
